In order for any project to be successful it is important that it is correctly managed. Firstly deliverables were agreed in conjunction with the supervisor and client Professor Matthew Cartmell. It was clear that the scope of the project was very ambitious so it was agreed that, whilst great effort would be made to completing all aspects of the work, it may not be possible within the time constraints.

A Gantt chart was created to give the team a better understanding of how the time available could be managed and so ensure the best possible chance of success. The Gantt chart changed over the course of the project as the work which was realistically possible became clear. An example of the team's Gantt chart can be seen in a sub-heading of this section.

The group met regularly most weeks to discuss progress and assess the work that needed to be carried out next. They also carried out semi-regular meetings with Professor Cartmell to ensure the project was running to the schedule expected by the client.

Standard project management tools, such as Risk assessment diagrams and controlled convergence matrices, were utilised to ensure the mission architecture was constructed efficiently and the deliverables were met.
